We are hiring for a Lead Assistant Golf Professional for our Golf Operations department. Under the supervision of the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional, the Lead Assistant provides technical and managerial supervision of the Golf Staff as directed. The Lead Assistant Golf Professional assists and leads the other staff members in day-to-day golf operations, alongside the Head Golf Professional. 

 

The Lead Assistant Golf Professional functions as the administrator for the Assistant Golf Professionals. Working with the Outside Operations Lead and the Golf Shop Supervisor, the Lead Assistant will help implement the policies established by the Head Golf Professional, Director of Golf, and Yellowstone Club Management Team.  Responsibilities include, but not limited to: General administration as assigned by the Head Golf Professional and Director of Golf; Event and tournament management; Handicap management; Technology maintenance and updating; Organization of golf operations files and historical data; Engraving of annual trophies; Assisting with Golf Shop administration; Leading the daily golf operation alongside the Head Golf Professional; Teaching, Club Fitting; Golf club repair and maintenance; Operation of camps and clinics; Leadership of the first tee starting duties; Representing the Golf Operation within the Safety Committee; Supervise & train golf staff; Setting the standard for customer service in all facets of the operation; Developing member relations, and more.

 

Qualified candidates must have:

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience
  • Class A member of the PGA of America
  • Three to five years of golf professional experience
  • Three to five years of management experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of world class hospitality and proven knowledge of world class customer service
  • Knowledge of Tournament Operations, USGA Rules of Golf, Handicap Management, Course Rating Systems, Merchandise Management, Club Fitting, Instructional education related to golf swing mechanics, and additional specific golf industry aspects
  • Well versed and current with all facets of the golf world and golf industry
  • Ability to coordinate golf activities and events, including golf tournaments
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with staff, vendors, numerous departments, management, and membership
  • Maintain a genuine and congenial rapport with all those he/she comes in contact with through a friendly and outgoing personality
  • Excellent technical computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Tournament Software, Jonas Point of Sale System, and more)
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
